The visit of Donostia / San Sebastián Mayor Jon Insausti to Viralgen was an opportunity to open our doors and share, once again, what we do and why it matters: supporting the development and manufacturing of AAV-based gene therapies that aim to bring scientific innovation closer to patients.
Throughout the tour, the Mayor and his team were able to see how AAV-based gene therapies are manufactured in a highly regulated environment, and how Viralgen’s work brings together scientific expertise, advanced GMP manufacturing capabilities, process development, MSAT, quality, and regulatory know-how. The visit also provided an opportunity to show how Viralgen acts as a bridge between scientific innovation and the manufacturing capabilities needed to help bring advanced therapies closer to patients. It helped illustrate the complexity behind AAV production and the importance of integrating science, engineering, quality, and operations to deliver robust manufacturing solutions from early development to clinical and commercial stages.
