IT Security Director

We are seeking a strategic and experienced IT Security Director to lead our cybersecurity efforts at Viralgen. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive security strategy to protect our information systems and data from cyber threats while ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Key Tasks:

• Assume the role of Information Security Officer for Viralgen, ensuring that all information security policies and practices are upheld across the organization.
• Develop and execute the organization’s IT security strategy, aligning it with business objectives and industry best practices.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the IT security team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
• Identify and assess security risks to the organization, implementing measures to mitigate those risks effectively.
• Establish and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure a consistent approach to cybersecurity across the organization.
• Oversee the incident response process, ensuring timely and effective resolution of security incidents and breaches.
• Evaluate and manage relationships with third-party security vendors and service providers, ensuring they meet organizational security requirements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards, and other data protection regulations.
• Work closely with other departments, including IT, legal, and compliance, to ensure security measures are integrated into all business processes.
• Develop and implement security awareness programs for employees to foster a security-conscious culture within the organization.
• Prepare and present regular reports to senior management and the board on the status of the organization’s security posture and initiatives.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT security, with at least 5 years in a leadership or director-level role.
• Proven experience in networkind and cibersecurity.
• In-depth knowledge of security technologies, risk management frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
• High level of english both written and spoken.
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to think strategically and develop long-term security plans that align with organizational goals.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
